작년 금감원은 소액결제 현금화 등 불법금융선전을 방송통신심의위원회에 요청해 사이트 폐쇄와 게시글 삭제, 계정 중지 등을 확정했지만 ‘언론 보도에는 대응하지 않았다. 금감원 지인은 “언론의 보도는 홍보로 규정할 수는 없어 보여서 판단하기 불편한 면이 있을 것이다”고 하였다.
‘소액결제 현금화 사업은 불법이다. 아이디어통신망법은 ‘통신과금서비스이용자로 하여금 통신과금서비스에 의하여 재화등을 구매·이용되도록 한 후 이용자가 구매·사용한 재화등을 할인하여 매입하는 행위에 ‘3년 이하의 징역 또는 3천만원 이하의 벌금에 처되도록 규정하고 있을 것이다.
이와 같이 광고 기사는 현재도 나타났다가 사라지고 있을 것이다. 10월 들어 디트뉴스24, 경남데일리, 충북인뉴스, 전남일보, 투데이대구전남, 자전거생활 등 매체가 ‘소액결제 현금화 광고 기사를 내보냈다. 이들 언론 가운데는 기사를 매일 올렸다 지우는 곳도 있다.
