I noticed a musty smell in the living room and traced it to the crawl space under the house. When I opened the access panel, I saw patches of black mold spreading across the dirt floor and up the wooden joists. It looked like it had been growing for a while, probably from moisture seeping in after heavy rains. I need to get that cleaned up and figure out how to keep the space dry to prevent it from coming back.
